5 tips to wash food properly

Washing food is a task that must be taken very seriously to remove various types of germs that can cause severe diseases, however the procedure is different for each type of food.
The U.S. Food Inspection and Protection Service suggests some important actions to properly wash food.
1. Washing: Remember that all fruits and vegetables (including those that are peeled) should be washed properly before eating them. In some cases water and brushing is enough, while in other cases, such as strawberries, lettuce and cabbage, these must be put to rest in a solution of disinfectant drops for vegetables.
2. Cutting: After cutting the areas that are damaged, open the key so that water falls, but you should not use any type of soap, cleaner or detergent.
3. Brushing: It is recommended to use a brush to clean products such as melons and pumpkins.
4. Meat: Do not clean meat, chicken or eggs, because you can distribute the germs throughout the food.
5. Pre-washed food: There is food in a bag (usually lettuce and spinach) that mentions that they are pre-washed in this case. Do not worry, you can consume them directly from the bag without washing them.
As you can see, washing food is something that must be done in order to maintain good health and enjoy food in a healthy way. Remember that proper hygiene in the kitchen will help you to be healthier and take advantage of all the benefits that healthy foods can offer you.
